surplus sweep

an instagram video series dedicated to raising awareness for the UW surplus store, told through the story of a game show involving 4 randomly selected students.

I served many hats behind the production of the sweep, including researching old game shows, creating resuable brand assets, copywriting for social media, scheduling social posts, photography/videography, editing, and more!

key takeaways

being clear with communication through multiple avenues is imperative.  while you are setting up the film shoot, who are the departments you should be emailing? who do we need to get in contact with?

always refer back to the design guide. the tone and brand of the institution needs to be upheld. word choice, color choice, and sound design choice should all match the principles of the brand.

leave space for mistakes and things to fall through, because they will. make sure you have extra leg room just in case something goes haywire.

ask for critique. sometimes people are afraid of overstepping their boundaries. getting as much input as you can helps immensely, especially if you're starting to stare at something too long!
